What is Solar PV? {Photovoltaic}
a type of
photocell that changes light from the sun into electricity
Solar panels installed either on top of, or into, your existing roof,
collect sunlight and turn it into energy to feed the electricity needs of
your home. The excess energy your panels collect is automatically fed into
the National Grid and you get paid for it.

Pv solar panels are a source of free, green and renewable energy that can
dramatically reduce your carbon footprint – and your energy bills.
They are silent, require little or no maintenance, and generate electricity
for a lifetime.

Pv solar panels don't require bright sunshine – they continue to work even
on dull and cloudy days. There is a solar solution for almost any home but we
will never encourage you to go for solar energy if your home is really not
suitable.
How do I Know if my
Home is Suitable?
Proline Solar carry out a comprehensive 30-point feasibility study
and write a full report on every property we are asked to look at.
This approach means you can have complete confidence that every aspect
of your home’s solar potential has been assessed and that you have all
the information you need to make your decision.

How Reliable is it?
Unlike other fuels which are hard to get to and hard to extract, the
sun is always there.
The UK experiences average total sunshine of 1339 hours a year, so
there’s a lot of sunshine out there to capture. And it’s a myth that
cloudy, rainy conditions mean solar doesn’t work. Even on cloudy days
there is still a lot of sunlight available to be captured - in fact
cloudy conditions can actually help to increase the sunlight collected.

A Bit About Photovoltaic
Solar Photovoltaic modules generate and store
electricity from the suns energy through the use of rechargeable
modules. They produce energy that contributes to the running of
appliances and lighting within the home without harming the environment.

The energy that is produced within the panels from the sunlight will feed
into a battery. An inverter will convert the direct current electricity from
the panels into alternating current. The electricity that is generated by
the solar panels is then transferred through the controller which will allow
the electricity to be turned on and off so it can be used for electrical
domestic units.
David Morrison has owned and run Proline Windows and Proline UPVc for 15
years, we have a team of specialist installers who have experience in solar
pv and solar thermal.
There are many government grants available and excellent investment
opportunities as the extra energy you generate can be sold back to the
government via the Feed In Tariff
